Superstars International Series 2012

[Wheels of Fire]

the next season of Superstars Series will start on 1st of April 2012.
At the moment there is the 2012 calendar to be confirmed:

Monza (April 1)
Imola (April 22)
Donington (20 May)
Mugello (June 3)
Hungaroring (July 1)
Spa Francorchamps (July 15)
Portimao (September 16)
Vallelunga (October 7)
TBA TBA (maybe Indonesia or Abu Dhabi)

We know that Audi Sport Italia will keep on the track 3 Audi RS5 (one for Morbidelli);Swiss Team should race 3 or 4 Maserati Quattroporte (Pier Guidi should be confirmed);will enter Scuderia Giudici with maybe 4 BMW M3 E92 for D'Aste,Piscopo,and maybe Giudici himself and one son of Mansell.BMW Italia must confirm their drivers,while Campos Racing will return under the lead of Felix Porteiro's father.Also Proteam may enter in the championship.

Starting from 2012 the winner of the rookie trophy (are eligible drivers who have never raced in Superstars under 24) will drive in 5 european races in the AutoGP in 2013.

Indonesian race,at Sentul,confirmed for November 11.Will partecipate the local driver Ananda Mikola too.

Due to a protest by BMW, the final 2011 Superstars series positions could change...it's taking a while...

Looking forward to the 9-round series next year, with Indonesia and Sentul added to the calendar!

No,the protest was submitted by Luigi Ferrara (the driver of CAAL Racing) against Bertolini's Maserati.In these days we should know the name of the 2011 International Series champion.

in the 2012 season Sini will drive for Solaris Motorsport,a new entry in the Superstars Series.The team aims to put on the track 3 Chevrolet Lumina.

Well, the verdict on the DTM-rules overhaul is still out, it could be that they have some amazing racing going on next year...

There's the ADAC GT Masters. But I agree that the new DTM isn't touring car racing at all. I don't care if races are short or there's just one driver per car - coupés are sprots cars, period.
