miniracer47 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
advice needed

It has just come to the end of our first year marshalling we are both trainees. My partner has problems with her back and cannot stand for too long periods. Is there any other position she can take as she wishes not to give up as she enjoys so much.

I'd recommend that she tries startline as it is probably the one specialisation where you can actually sit down between races but still get up close and personal to the cars.

Race phones? Race admin? Pits can give some sitting time depending on the meeting, ditto startline but it does depend on the meeting and the circuit, if it's a combined pits/startline team then days will be pretty busy but she'd probably manage some time to sit.

is it just standing that's a problem? Pits/startline marshals usually cover quite a lot of ground over a weekend!

good advice, for me walking is ten times worse than standing.

assembly is the place to be. 10 minutes organising cars then a rest break of 20/30 minutes or more if the proceeding race starts from the pits

assembly area is always busy, so the only time you get a rest was the lunchbreak!

but i understand that there are less marshals for the non track jobs, so the few that are still doing it, have more work to do.

it depends on the length of the races, if its full of short races you're always busy but long races you usually get a break of some length between cars

I agree that Assembly is anything but an easy job but if they are long races then it does give you some respite - especially 24hr races! I also know from experience that jobs in race control can be a bit hard to come by.

Any thoughts about a shooting stick type of thing to "rest" on. I know these don't always help depending on your actual problem but they could take the strain off and still leave you free to move should the need arise and let you stay out on the bank.

Less obvious one - fire truck, you can sit in the truck most of the day.
