City Challenge
I'm not sure what to make of this.
Looks like a real life Project Gotham Racing with GT3 cars.

Yeah me too. What are you psychic or something? When I saw the thread title I instantly thought this same question.
Great minds think alike eh?
It certainly sounds quite interesting. No driver categorization, no handicaps, the best driver and car wins. Hope it happens.

I think this could actually work if they'd slightly modify the concept.
Since chances are that they won't attract decently sized fields and building good full size street tracks tends to be a pain in the neck anyway, they maybe should go for a Rally-Cross kind of format.
Use shorter tracks (less costs) and a heat race kind of format (to mask) the lack of cars and this could actually work, especially when marketed to the PS and X-box generation.
With a heat race format and a track that is short enough to not be blatantly empty with only a few cars on it, this could actually make for an interesting day at the races.
The market for conventional GT3-series is oversaturated, if they want to make this work they have to try something new.

Not sure I'd consider my mind 'great' :P It is funny tho now knowing this is a racing series, their sponsorship of Vita4One in FIA GT1 means they're a series sponsoring a team in a series sponsoring teams...

Didnt think of that. Nice one.
I think if they market this right, as being more quick and exciting then it could work, it just needs to be different then all the other GT3 series out there.

Well there's existing races they can latch onto if they want it to be truly international, Baltimore, Long Beach, Monaco even, Gold Coast, etc.

So this is like FIA GT... but on streets?
Oh boy, can we tell them that it's not the time to make another series!

According to this there will be no driver categories, no handicaps and Vita4One seem to be keen on the series. Get a good design package and TV deal and add that with some uncompromising racing would be amazing.
Sadly they would not be able to have a race in the UK due to the law. T_T But what about the Isle of Man? A sportscar race around the TT track would be crazy!

Those cities should better try to attract a round of the Global Rallycross.

Well, "Global RallyCross" is so far a US-only series and I doubt that's going to change anytime soon.

You're VERY wrong about that, but I'm not really allowed to say anything more.

The use of the word Global kind of implies they need to take it outside America. Unless it's like the World Series.

Baseball's World Series? Since when hasn't that been won by a US team?
