stock hatch rollcage question

hi people
its my first day here on 10 tenths.
i have a cage question, do stock hatch rallycross cars have to have a bought , bolt in roll cage or can they have a weld in cage as long as the steel is the correct spec.

welcome to 10/10th, but wouldnt you be better off just reading the regulations? that way you will get a 100% correct answer not a load of guesses or half baked conjecture

Checking the regs is a good idea, but you can also speak to your local scrutineer, a list of whom can be found in the MSA Blue Book (which you get when you apply for your licence). Bought bolt-ins and built weld-ins are generally both fine as long as they are approved by a scrutineer. That's the golden rule; the car needs an MSA logbook and a scrutineer is the one who grants it that, so make sure they're happy and it'll all be fine.
