Bryan Degerlund should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Dartford Crossing

Just a warning to those who use the Dartford Crossing (QEII) bridge. The 50mph average speed cameras will be activated from June 28th according to Kentpolice Twitter tweet.

Must make up for the fact that everyone is only doing 2 mph average for the previous 12 miles. The traffic delays for the bridge is one of the reasons I prefer not bother racing at Brands anymore.

I have no argument with average speed cameras, as long as they also pick up those failing to manage a reasonable average speed as well, particularly if they're not in the left lane.

Remember most speedos read 4mph above the actual speed anyway.

Slightly more complicated than that I use my satnav to calibrate it for real speeds.

I've always worked on the basis that the cameras were already in operation, but sometimes it's difficult to get up to 50 when I'm towing my caravan! There's also loads of cameras in the 70 section just after the bridge leading up to the Brands turn off. Anyone know of any plans to increase the toll?

I thought they'd abandoned the plan to put the toll up?! Interesting to know about the cameras though, I use it every week day and they've been there so long without working I almost ignore them!

Was true for my old ('93) Honda. Worked out as an increasing percentage from about 5-10% at low speeds to 10-15% at higher, motorway speeds.

But for my new (2005) Audi it's almost exactly 5mph above the satnav all through from 20 mph to Autobahn speeds!

So glad I don't have to do that bridge/tunnel any more, but thanks as it's useful info.

Both our current cars and my previous one are exactly 4mph out. Which means all that time I thought I was being cheeky through the speed cameras I now realise I was almost precisely on the limit. How disappointing!
