Seeeking detail pics of Gp2 Capri RS2600 and RS3100.
Any pics or links would help, building a Gp2 car and need as much info on the rear suspension as I can find. Lots available on the Escorts, can't find much on the Capris (although there seems to be quite a bit carried over). Any help appreciated!

Sounds like we have something in common! Made contact with one of the original Capri racers [actually bought an Atlas Axle from him,all the right bits in it] Just waiting for a compilation of photos on the very subject

Thanks Terence.
I run the Barbados Historic Rally Carnival. David Rayner competed last year in a Tiger but he owns an RS2600 Safari car and has sent me several homologation forms. E-mail me at greg at huzier dot com and I'll send them to you. The Safari scrutineer has also sent me some period pics they used for eligibility I can send you. Gordon Spice is also doing some research for me (he only drove GpA cars) so I should have more soon.
My biggest dilemma at this point is deciding between an RS2600 and an RS3100; I'm leaning toward the latter.
I'll be at Goodwood on Sunday, hopefully there will be Capris there..

PS Do you know the source of your axle exactly? I'd like to measure/copy a Broadspeed axle if I could find one.

Gentlemen,
The April 2010 issue of German magazine 'Powerslide' (issue #05) may be of interest to you as it has an 11-page in-depth feature on the 3100RS Capri in their 'Cars in Detail' series. The feature includes cutaway artworks, detail drawings & photographs etc.
You can probably get a back issue via their website: www.powerslide-mag.de (hope that doesn't break any rules!).

Thanks John. Any chance you could e-mail scans to me? Found navigating the website difficult with my non-existent knowledge of German.

So that means RS2600, RS3100 wasn't until '74.
E-mail me at greg - at - huzier.com and I'll send you the homologation forms and bits I've found so far.

Whilst [trying] to remove the much too short studs from my front hubs, trying as in there was not enough room between the two mounting faces,I suddenly realised why there are four short bolts around the centre of the hub,it is in fact two sections! Very nicely machined but seems an awful lot of work just to get the later type vented disc's on! Anyone seen this before please.
Greg,did you get my details?

Hi Terence, These are RS3100 hubs, (the silver bit with a standard disc brake mount added to it). On my Capri racers I use these hubs with an alloy bell to mount the disc to it.
I think they may have come from a Granada??
Cheers, Carl

Many thanks Carl, like I said it was more out of curiosity than anything else,at least I was told the truth when I bought the car. It currently has the [same] discs as you have, but I'm going up in size with them. What are your calipers,I see they are alloy but are they ATE or Dunlop please.
