Nissan to DTM or WTCC or another?
Some interesting news this morning.
While I can happen to help think that they will go to WEC in few years time, having Nissan to the DTM or WTCC would be interesting to see.

WTCC: No car available in Europe.
DTM: Nissan GT-R, but sister brand Infiniti makes more sense.

Maybe not in Europe, but they do have cars in the USA and Japan.

Depends on how intersting Germany as a market is for Nissan. I guess they want to promote Infiniti, but it's still hard to rack market shares away from Mercedes, BMW or VW/Audi. On the other hand, Infiniti also sponsors Sebastian Vettel, which could make for some very intersting cross promotion.

If an Infiniti starts beating Mercs, Bimmers and Audi in their "own game", it could make for some great marketing for their luxury cars not only in Germany but across Europe.

I said GT-R but to be honost it doesn't make really sense. The car is on the market for several years now.
If Nissan wants to push the Infiniti brand in Europe DTM would be the best choice. Beating the 3 German premium brands on their own tracks is good PR. So far sponsoring Red Bull Racing didn't do anything for the brand.

The Juke might actually work, if you look at the Juke-R. I know it's supposed to be a SUV, but it's actually only a couple of centimeters taller than a Focus for example.

juke in wtcc
if they choose dtm and with a nissan gt-r the car would be very different from the gt500 version correct? because of all the common parts of the new dtm machines and same chassis.

Yeah I think you're right on that one. If they did come into the DTM with the GT-R, then there would have been a gt1 iteration, gt3, GT500 and DTM!
Autosport also suggests that Nissan were also looking into WRC amongst WTCC/DTM and WEC. Hmmm, interesting times indeed. Now we need more companies like Fiat or Alfa Romeo to start racing again, and don't even get me started about Mitsubishi...

If it's DTM, it should be Infiniti.
If it's WTCC, it will be the Sylphy, which should replace the Sentra around the world. But it looks much slower than the Civic and Cruze.
If it's WEC, it has to be in LMP1.
The GT-R will keep racing un Super GT and GT3. The next generation should do the same, and perhaps GTE.

Why I think Nissan might enter with the Versa/pulsar/whatever or the Sylphy is down to the markets where they will be sold. The WTCC seems to be pushing to Asia and America for the next few years so I think it is going to be likely that we will see non-European models enter along side the usual European based cars. It would be a group of oddball cars racing against each other at this rate but then that's one of the great things about it being a World Championship. Any car within reason can enter. Even a Lada!
However there are a few factors that might suggest otherwise. Lada are looking at going full time next year which the Renault-Nissan alliance have shares in, so I don't see them wanting the brands compete. Then who run the team? RML have ties to Nissan similar to how JAS have ties to Honda from their BTCC. They could run the Nissan entry however RML currently run the Chevrolet entry and do not seem to be pulling out anytime soon. Finally when you look at the reception of the Le Mans entry they had with Deltawing, Highcroft and RML this year it would not surprise me to see them return.
