Just what the world needed: Another (aiming to be high profile) GT3-series:
http://endurance-info.com/version2/a...nce-12206.html
Ah, this actually says that 2012/3 cars will be allowed:

On notera également que les GT3 2012 et 2013 seront acceptées.

As for the Chevorn, I doubt it'll get an official GT3 homologation - no real road going counterpart, so the situation is pretty close to that of Mosler or Ascari (who only slipped in in the first years of GT3 due to a lack of other cars).

Eh, just having Vitaphone in there (and perhaps instead of in the SRO series) might give it enough legitimacy to get it off the ground. Probably barely so and it will die off again sooner or later, but in the mean time it might hurt some other series.

Really? Or just misunderstanding?
Watkins referred to this in his story: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/101532
His proposal for world titles to be awarded on the basis of the two series will go to the FIA World Council at the end of October.
The gt1world.com story doesn't say anything about points: http://gt1world.com/news/details/ste...romoted-series

It's pity. That sportsman could kick those glamour fat dandies up.

The ADAC GT Masters doesn't allow all-pro lineups, so it doesn't really count as a major series to me. (I didn't watch any race, so I can't judge how great it looks.)

Oh, but they do. Maybe the rules say different, but pairings like Alex Margharitis and Lance David Arnold or Maxime Martin and Dino Lunardi look pretty damn all-pro to me. Huertgen and Schwager is also quite legit - or Mamerow and Rast.
Just goes to show how easily one can circumvent the FIA driver classifications.

I never heard of David Arnold and Dino Lunardi. All pro is Ortelli-Kristensen, Vilander-Fisichella, Rockenfeller-Dumas.

Well, I don't think hardly anybody had heard of Treluyer before he wiped out in the Peugeot a few years ago, and now...

I know there's lots of fast drivers around. I'm talking about stars - not Danica or Dale Jr stars, of course, but drivers who succeeded in the best races.

You're rather limited in what you'll watch with such an elitist view to only watch racing with official all-Pro driver line-ups and only 'stars'.

DTM has them. ALMS has them in the GT class. The WEC has them in two classes.

If you watch enough DTM, ALMS, and WEC, then of course you're going to know those drivers the best. I'm sure if you start watching GT Masters, then you'll get to know the drivers in that series as well. You don't have to be a "star" to be a "pro". There are a bunch of super-fast drivers out there that aren't stars.
