Can't wait for the new series to come to Indy next year! The stands are PACKED for the race going on right now. I think I see upwards of 30 people in attendance.

Choose your reply:
"who's racing there, now, after all?" "who cares about roval racing anyways?" "wait a minute, how'd the GA crowd triple? ;P" |

I think the bus stop actually makes for a more interesting lap around the circuit, especially for an amateur racer in a Formula Ford or SCCA showroom stock car. I would be delighted to toast you at the Rolex 24 next year, but it sounds like you won't be there. Andy Flinn |

The baseball game doesn't start until 7. But don't worry, I just turned off the onboard stream I was watching. I hope that's ok with you. I'll be sure to clear my other viewing decisions with you ahead of time in the future.

Great how in every sort of discussion its own idea of one of the typical corollary of Godwin's Law comes along.
Whether it's one of the Scot[t]s (A/E) posting pictures of how losers have a sense of entitlement and winners embrace change, implying all the people who actually made their jobs possible in the first place where losers with a sense of entitlement, or whether it's now you putting an axe into the hands of those who dare and have an opposing opinion. Read the forum poll/thread title and ask yourself: Isn't "drop daytona" a valid, on-topic opinion to be stated?! You know what. Just for the sake of this meta-axe, I'll bury it now. Here: X |

I hope today proved to some people why Indy DOES NOT belong on the USCR schedule.

Funniest part of all this is AC Flinn attacking me for defending the choice of Daytona. He's a lot smoother than freeballin, but ... whatever dude.

I wonder how many adults are actually in this thread... You guys rage and bicker like preschoolers.
Now excuse me while I actually act like a fan and not some entitled 5 year old. Sheesh... |

I don't like Daytona road course (as most rovals) both from the TV-spectating point of view and as a simulation racer. But I must say, there's something very special about seeing different classes of sportscars running on that steep banking which almost makes up for the rest of the track. For that same reason lesser banked rovals like Indy GP course or worse Lauzsitsring are beyond tedious for me.

Well folks, here is your answer for next year for Mosport.
http://www.torontosun.com/2013/07/19...portscar-event Well deserved. If any track deserves a race on this schedule, especially with all of the money invested, it's Mosport. |

Main reason to drop Indy is the same reason Rolex dropped Homestead ... no one know, or cares, or shows for the race.
Besides which most rovals are too much riding around on ovals and not enough turns. The limitation of having to squeeze everything into the infield can lead to some deadly dull (Daytona) tracks. The positive is that fans can see so much from the bleachers. The reality is that the bleachers are about totally empty. |
