Minicross424 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Spa 24 Hours info / help please.

Guys and Girls.
I am sure you get bored of threads like this but after advice / help.
Considering a trip to Spa for the 24 hours with a small group of friends (a car load) and apart from having a look at the track when passing on my way to Germany I really don't know much about it.
Ideally want to camp at the track so can return to the tent during the race at points and be able to buy food at the track plus have the odd beer.
Is it best to buy tickets / camping passes in advance or on the day?
Good places to eat?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

I've always bought them upon arrival with no problem, or just camped around the circuit without paying extra.

Food at the track used to be the best I'd ever had trackside, but they have sold their catering to someone else recently and it's not up to the standards it was before. However, there are some cafes and restaurants in Francorchamps village and it's easy to get the bus to Stavelot if you need. There's also a demi-buffet in the paddock which costs a few Euros but it's a nice place to hide from the weather.

It's a lovely race, first mark on my calendar each year. For the record, Spa also manages the 'concert-during-a-24-hour-race' better than other attempts (eg Le Mans).

Great first reply thank you.
Where about's would you suggest camping in the circuit and is the demi-buffet open to anyone?

Last time I used it in 2012, yes. I presume it was last year too, must have made them a few pennies.

There's paid for camping just above the first corner and one on the outside of Eau Rouge, both very good, or you can take a tent up to the woods at the top of the circuit and find a spot up there.

What's a demi buffet?

I keep on reading it as a denim buffet-sounds like it has a dress code

Since Demi = 1/2 I keep visualizing saucers on kid sized tables.

In francochamps there are several places to eat and drink but you must visit the racing hotel, brilliant place to be, they do pizza and some other food but the beer menu is very extensive, plenty of the teams drink there as well, The local area is slightly italian for some reason and several other pizza places and steak houses

Its not really a buffet because it's not come and go as you please, it's one plate per 'token'. Assuming it hadn't changed. Either way, I wouldn't count on it, but yes, the hotel is better but there is also plenty of opportunity to get some local meats and shopping and have a cracking barbeque. When it's not raining...

Thanks for the help so far guys.
So it looks like pay on the day, pitch the tents at the circuit, head to the Racing Hotel for food and beers.

Desperate to make a trip to the Spa 24. Thought this year was going to be my year - but with the slightly revised calendar it literally fell on the worst possible weekend of the year for me.

Hoping 2015 will be the one. Need to capitalise on this GT3 era while it's still around.

That sounds like the best plan, will need to pray for good weather as well
