Well Jackie Oliver in the UOP / IoI Shadow. Could it have been a race at Lagua Seca ? Pity there is not more background to work on.

One goal at a time, if we can get the track the race will be easier. Will wait till the US guys come on line.

it is Jackie Oliver in a Shadow DN4(I think). However there is no UOP sponsorship, so perhaps the 1976 mosport Grp6 sportscar round where old can am cars were allowed to take part. UOP pulled the sponsorship at the end of 1975.

100% correct.
It was on this remarkable occasion that the Empire struck back - CanAm rose from the ashes and whooped the FIA Gp.6 prototypes' b*tt. George Follmer with an ancient McLaren M20 came 2nd; the Porsche 936, Alpine 442, et al. were beaten fair and square. (It was 200 mile race, though  )
