As from what I heared there were no serious injuries. The one marshall was hit by debris but fortunately apart from some cuts he is all right. What will hurt more is the damage that was done to the cars. The Saleens and the Tuscan look like complete write offs.

Thats some serious damage, glad to hear everyone involved is ok. I was caught in the rain shower as it crossed into Shropshire and it was hideous just standing in it never mind racing in it!

It was horrid, the visibility went from clear to zero in under 2 seconds. The fact that there were no serious injuries just goes to show how lucky we all were.
The marshal has minor cuts and brusing, I saw him walk out of the med center. Good on Mike Newton, Saleen driver and former Oulton Marshal, who after extracting himself from his car, went over to see how the marshal was. - TVRfan are you going to Snett? |

I was flagging at Lakeside and as the rain came down we had no visiablitiy of the flag points at Island or Cascasdes. Even though we had 2 cars off there was no way that the drivers could see the flags the rain was that bad. It is the worst I have seen since 97

Simon Pullan looks like a very lucky man indeed!
Glad to see no-one was hurt seriously. When is the coverage on Channel 4? |

The Tuscan R and the Viper are repairable - The Saleen's chassis will both need to go back to the US.

To be fair to other posters, I doubt we'd see comments here about repair bills if there had been serious injuries. And I guess you had to be there to get a true feeling of how serious it could have been. British GTs being high profile (and expensive!), I'm sure the top teams budget for a couple of full rebuilds a season anyway... I tend to feel more sympathy in that respect for a privateer who wrecks his £10,000 Caterham in race 2 and has to pull out of the season. |

Have to agree with Kaybee and the others about comments made, but if it had of been worse, and as garcon says, no one i'm sure would be talking about repair bills. I'm glad we can make comments like this after such an incident.
Cars are repairable and replaceable, people aren't. Quote:
