Most Popular Driver
From CART.com:
...a year-long vote has yielded five finalists for the WorldCom Most Popular Driver Award, with the winner to be announced at the season-ending CART banquet in Miami on November 22.
Series champion Cristiano da Matta, two-time race winner Patrick Carpentier, Milwaukee winner Paul Tracy, Long Beach winner Michael Andretti and three-time race winner Dario Franchitti have been chosen as the finalists in a year-long ballot by Champ Car fans. Fans cast their votes via hand-written ballots, internet voting and at voting kiosks at the track.
This is almost too crazy to be true! Andretti and Franchitti? Makes me question the part about "fans cast their votes". Obviously it meant "casual fans".
Who should win?

Tracy, with DaMatta second.
Chris, what are you thinking, man, letting the traitors in on this?!

Gotta be Paul Tracy, the new Poster Boy for Champ Cars! (But I will be happy if Cris wins, really I will.)

Tracy, if only for his Crapwagon quote. Would love to have Patrick getting it too

The term "Crapwagon" has forever endeared PT to my heart.

PT has become THE man of the CART series since he was robbed at Indianapolis and has constantly spoken out in favour of our series. I don't think there is a CART fan out there who doesn't have a new found respect for PT.

My vote is for Tracy. My opinion of him came up a lot this season. I notice that there are no votes for Andretti and Franchitti.
Interesting…

Paul for his dedication to Cart and his fans...
with an honorable mention to Pat for jogging down the pitlane in his boxers...and without shoes.
