Is the German GP Possible?

Hiya all...

Soon I will soon be leaving beautiful Los Angeles, California to be travelling to Venice, Italy for some business. It looks as though I will be having some free time the weekend of the German GP.

Seeing as how I am from the States (nothing i could do about that, blame my parents) I have no idea wether getting to the area of the Hockenheimring is actually possible for a weekend trip from Venice. If anyone is familiar about the area, please I would love some help. I am going to try and refrain from renting a car, I would prefer to do this travelling on the trains.

Any information you guys have would be much appreciated. Thank you so much.

From Venice to Hockenheim forget about the train, it would take u 10 hours at least, try to look for a cheap flight between Venice and Frankfurt or Stuttgart if not try from Milan. About the car rent it on the web through an american company www.orbitz.com for instance, is much cheaper and if it is your first time on an german autobahn good luck and be careful

I think that taking a train would be possible pretty much from anywhere to everywhere. I would check with the eurorail website. I am pretty sure that you could also buy a ticket to the GP, but I am sure that a room would be a problem. The nearby afordable hotels are already sold out by this time usually, and if you do not have a car you have to stay in a camping with a tent or something similar. Another possibility would be the 5* expensive hotels, they probably still have a couple of rooms left, you could book one on the net.

Personally, I think you would be better of renting a car. Don't worry, if one can drive in LA one can driver anywhere even on the German Autobahn. I got to go now but tomorrow I will try to find you some train information.
