Jag V8 saloon
I hear rumours of a Jag tintop taking part in the inaugaral SCV8 Supercar championship in 2004. Ive heard they plan to use the X type fitted with a 500 brake V8 lump. Nascar for the Brits? Awesome!

just running on the subject of the Jag V8 saloon, is there any pictures about? And another thing it would be great if they were in the BTCC with the idea that BMW and Alfa will join next year because of these new rules mixing up the BTCC and ETCC entries

Considering there's already a S Type racing in the German V8Star, a Jag racing on the track isn't totally new.
Check out this website to give you a pretty good regarding how a racing X Type would look! Could this have been the blueprint for the SCV8??

There is also Allan Lloyd's XK8 in the British GT championship and Trevor Baines' 4WD X-Type in the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club Saloon championship.
And of course it isn't 'totally new' - the XK120s production racers, the Mk2 touring cars, the E-Types of the 60s, the mighty Broadspeed XJ12 of the 70s, the TransAm Es and XJS', the TWR XJS' of the 80s, the XJ220's of the 90s. All production based racing and this is ignoring the pre war SS100s, the C's and the D's the TWR XJRs. Jaguars racing heritage is in production /sportscar racing.

You forgot Brian Stevens' XJS, Roger Cope's S Type, and the others which race with the CTCRC.

Rocketsports Racing (Paul Gentilozzi's CART and Trans-Am Team) prepared a nice looking X-Type. I'm sorry I don't have a picture of it.

Oh, of course. Top racers. I didn't forget (how could I see them at most circuits I visit!). My excuse is that I was sticking to current racers of current Jaguyar models and a random potted history of works and sort of works racers through the ages!

Actually, I think the rear spoiler could be better looking. I think the Jaguar symbol on the side really makes the car look mean--a la F1 team! The car would be even nicer looking if it was in a British Racing Green paint scheme!
