DJR back on track
Great to see DJR back to being competitive again.
Since Sandown they have had pretty good car speed and have been in the top 10 quite frequently due to improved cars.
Hopefully the bad times are gone and they have turned the corner and have a great 2004.

Let's see. Yes they had a great weekend (by their standards of late), but they need consistency. It will be interesting to see how they perform the rest of this year, and indeed next year when they have their "rumoured" new team member.

I still don't know if they have the driver combination to be a top team at the moment but if they can get it together & be competitive it'll be great as the more competitive teams the better the racing.

Well at least it seems that they've finally bottomed out and started climbing back up the ladder.
Here's hoping the climb continues all they way to the top.

What i would like to see next year would be Luff and Moreno in 17 and 18. Morenos free on contracts and a real charger and Luff is young and hungry.
And Ron Tauranac helping with the engineering of the cars-
.....Moreno would work well with him.
The other two have had a go!!!

One thing for sure is that Steve Johnson needs to more on, that may seem harsh but for his own benefit it would be good for him to get away from his dad, so that would relieve pressure from him. Maybe go to 888 or another strong Ford team or even perhaps a Holden Team. Just a thought.

Who else would want him though? Jr has underachieved unfortunately....
I wouldnt mind seeing Jack Perkins have a go in a CPR car in Konica though

Jnrs options would be limited to the blue side of the equation in another team. I dont think that the good ppl at Ford would be to happy if the son of a past Ford hero went and drove for the red team.
On the Blue side of the fence i think it would be hard for Jnr to loose the stigmatism that comes with being the son of a former hero, and the presumtion that he got his ride because of who is and not neccesarily what he can do.
I think hes got some tallent and can drive, but he needs to go to greener pastures out of his comfort zone at DJR to prove it properly

The ex-Morris Alcair Air Conditioning car was owned by Bob Alcorn and tended by the late Bob Tindal, as a VP for Dave Attard in 1995, as a VR for Greg Crick in 1996, a limited program as a VS for 1997... then onto the Crambrook family for Layton to run.
Actron Air is Kevin Mundy's family company and it sponsors Kevin in an ex-SBR AU, tended by Paul Cruickshank.
Not sure what the question was though
