Lloyd leaves ADR

Just got a press release about this - it's sad news - some funding's fallen through and he can't continue with the team.

It is with regret that Alex Lloyd announces that with immediate effect he feels he is no longer able to continue to drive for Alan Docking Racing in the 2004 British Formula 3 Championship

He has been informed that one fundamental source of funding, that he was led to believe would be available to him, has fallen through, and at least one other source is now also in grave doubt. As such, he no longer feels it appropriate to proceed with a long-term contract.

Alex commented “It is so disappointing to find ourselves in this situation, having worked so hard to try and put ourselves in a position where we could feel confident in our funding this year.

We feel it prudent to stop now before we start to incur the costs of the season proper, and we will therefore work to try and put a budget together for the latter part of the year, and a full budget next year. In the meantime, any outings for us this year, with whomsoever, are likely to be on a race-by-race basis.

I have really enjoyed my all-too-short time at ADR, and would like to take the opportunity of thanking them for the help and support they have given me, particularly Paul Antony and Alan Docking himself, and of expressing my sadness that circumstances have developed such that we were unable to continue through the year as envisaged.”
