Ah the old "Carlos Fandango" 1500cc Anglebox. I thought they'd been banned.

I passed this imp a few times at the craner curves , the old hairpin and into redgate . . . .and he passed me, at McLeans a few times, but I won that little battle in the end and pulled away by the end of the race

not banned Peter . . . . .apart from the block and shell theres not much from Dagenham though, and theyve been well tweaked, most anglias didnt have disc brakes on the front, let alone the back !

Correct. In fact none of them had discs. However the App J rules did allow them.

its a difficult subject because theyre excellent race cars but not very authentic in a pre-66 sense (discs all round, seam welded, welded multipoint cages, multi link suspension, trick engines, heavily modified steering/suspension geometry etc , so it makes the field look a bit odd regardless of how under developed other cars may be, from an engineering and spectators point of view its great though because everyone loves to see screaming sideways saloons !

Weren't those mods allowed under Group 2?

Glad you enjoyed yourself Gary. Are you in Historic FF?

Would that be a Merlyn?

Not too good at these "spindly" things but as I've lost a lot of weight I thought I might have another go. Re kindle my youth as it were and Merlyn's were always my favourites.

nope, my car is a mk 4/6 Nike of 1969 vintage. A Merlyn is the thing to have at the moment (prices correspond with that too!)
