I really don't think Haas has decided yet what he's going to do, and if he has, he'll keep h9is mouth shut until long after the season is over.

Did Mr. Haas release Jim McGee and the crew?
What did he do with the chassis and the other gear that they had in thier shops here?
Just curious.....
This is the first I've heard of this...when did it take place???

What has happened is that Haas has shut up. How it all plays out is anybody's guess.

I think you can safely scrub Newman/Haas from the 2005 IRL entry list.

You so funny
I think Haas got a whiff of how Mr. george conducts his business affairs and that was that. If there is a reversal, I'd be surprised. And if Haas does bolt the champcar team aint goin nowhere.
I'm sure Lola is there in the background too and Lola sure doesn't like the IRL, so going to the IRL would probably get his distributorship yanked.

Lola built an IRL car and wanted to join the series, but couldn't because they wanted to supply CART as well, which went against one of the tender regulations.
You can maybe scrub Newman/Haas from the 2005 entry list, but could scrub just Haas?

Funny, I havn't heard any complaints about the way TG conducts his business from, Michael Andretti, Chip Ganassi, Adrian Fernandez, Roger Penske, Mo Nunn, Pat Patrick, and Bobby Rahal, and Toyota, Chevy and Honda seem pretty happy to. Oh, and Carpentier seems very ready to go to the IRL and TG's way of doing business also. He might actually get paid to drive here, imagine that!
You have one minor victory by keeping Hass, and you need to come here and gloat like its going to save OWRS. Hmmm, it must be Gentilozzi's influence on you...

Yup, GP. Besides, I would think by now that CH would have some inkling on how TG conducts his business affairs.
I would like to hear an announcement from Haas about this whole matter...somehow, IMO, it would totally clarify things OFFICIALLY.

That's amazing! If the IRL tried that in any other civilised country on Earth, they'd be dragged over hot coals!
It's called "restriction of trade" in most Trade Practices Acts and carries bigpenalties. But, in the land where you can buy an election, anythings possible.

You need to open your ears. I've heard plenty of complaints from all of the above since 1992 about TG. The only reason they are keeping their mouths shut NOW is because the manufacturer checks are rolling in. When the music stops, the fun begins.
Toyota and Chevy ARE NOT HAPPY and have been complaining in public and private about the IRL and the engine situation. There have been several articles in the INDY STAR for starters if you care to look.
Carpetier is paid 1.7 million dollars right now and has some personal sponsors and is not a pay driver. You need to get your facts straight.
I didnt know OWRS needed saving. It's looking good considering where it started in January, I'm pleased. If things were so great for the IRL Penske would not have been trying to do a deal to reunify. As KK said "They were so desperate to do a deal it was terrifying".
As regards Lola and/or the Haas situation, the IRL and Tony george keep playing this "we're so innocent, we're not trying to destroy champcar" yet their actions of restricting trade and the affairs of companies they do not own shows their words are lies.
As told to John Oreovicz at Nazereth by TG:
"I have encouraged our people to stay away from anything that might look like we're sitting around trying to pick at the bones of the CART carcass"
Yet that's exactly what they have done ever since the bankruptcy hearing.
I think the best thing that may have happened to Champcar is that we purged ourselves of the "glass is half empty" crowd, Rahal Penske Ganassi Fernandez Andretti and all the rest. It may have been painful and some of us CART fans thought we needed them, but we didn't and we don't now. Because at the end of the day they were the people who were eating the business alive with malarky like stock offerings and big manufacturer checks.
You have misunderstood me if you think I'm gloating. I'm happy to have my series and you can have yours. If the IRL business is so awesome they and you need go about it and leave us alone. I couldn't care about the OWRS vs. IRL angle or reunification or the 500. What I don't like and why I bother to write, is that I'm tired of listening to the same propaganda about certain business situations when it's not based in reality or in facts or for that matter any desire in seeking the truth.
