Hi James. I'd say that it was either broken reed petals or a hole in the barrell. Not gonna be bottom end though. Good Luck.

I forgot to add, ive been getting fluid, water in small qunatities gathering around the shell of the engien at the top, just below where the part where you fit the spark plug bolts on to the rest of the engine. This is only small qunatities and i havent been losing drastic amounts of water fromt he radiator (havent had to top it up) its not like when i had my O rings fail in the Junior where if i turned the engine on there would be large qunatities of water seeping out like what happened when i started racing, think you saw that Mikey, same area just not such large amounts leaking

My dad said check that the chassis isn't bent because if the engine side of the chassis is bent, it may be stretching the throttle cable. Also, check the throttle slider isn't sticking in the carb, could be sticking open.

The slider seems to be ok and the needle isnt bent. The chassis seems all straight, itt ook a heavy knock on the engine side the race before the last crash (yes this season really has been that....**) however the chassis still rolls straight without veering and we even done a whole test day afterwards with no problems

Well, we sent it off to an Engine tuner and the feedback is that the Oil Seals which we had believed to be the problem are actually ok and the engine was fine under pressure testing. So thats one out.

However, he discovered there was a spring missing holding on the Exhaust manafold which would cause the power valve to always be open.

Also, he said there was a problem witht he fuel pump, causing air to be let in to the fuel line (i cant check details of this until we pick the engine up, only spoken on the phone) im hoping maybe thats what caused the surge in power.

He also said there were several problems with the carb, two bolts were fully tightened up which shouldnt have been and the flood chamber was filled with crap which im hoping explains why ive had rubbish bottom end performance.
