NSW Rallying

I was very tempted to go to round 1 of the NSW Rally championship this weekend at Wyong, but due to flooding in Northern NSW it has been cancelled due to really bad conditions.

A shame really, as I was planning on watching rallying this year. Might have to go to Rally of Canberra.

I won't have the opportunity, previously I was lucky as the Coffs Harbour Rally was a national round. But we seem to have lost it after many years.

It was great getting close to the cars and drivers. Taking the kids to watch the forrest sections. The dust. The wet. The fantastic sound.

And literally in my own backyard. All but a memory.

You can always take a run out to Oran Park, Elephino. The first round of the State Championships are on. FVee, FFord, HQ's, Alfa's and a few other categories I can't quite remember. The state guys can always do with a journo to give a good write up. I'm going out to watch the FFords on Sunday.

I would have liked to have been there, but I had other commitments.

I will be at Oran Park next Sunday though for Rd2 of the Konica Series.

I had all intention of going today but I ended up working instead. I'll try and get to the V8's next weekend.

Cool. I'll be going to that. Not sure how much spare time I'll have, it depends on whether I'm working for Motorsport News or not which I won't find out until tomorrow. But hopefully this time I'll remember my hat
