SBR Sponsor Monday
Team website says SBR will announce its replacement sponsor for Pirtek next Monday 12 noon. Supporters are invited to the team workshop for the announcement (no over the top glamour for SBR!). No mention of driver, MN says "still being sorted, though all points to Courtney". Sponsor? Is Stegbar big enough to step up a level? Either way good news.

That announcement date/time will also see the unveiling of the livery for the #4 Ford Falcon, as well as, the unmasking of their new driver for the 2006 V8 Supercar Series and beyond.........

And SBR reckon they were shocked with Pirtek's sudden withdrawl. That would have to be a record time for finding new sponser if they only just found out.

Fark, how can you expect a stunning livery when it has only been days.
Is James Courtney in Australia? |

Peter Allen married Liza Minella - that didn't stop him batting for the other team though.

Driver: "In fact, my moles report that SBR beat off last-minute bids from another big-name V8 team and a couple of multi-national car-makers to secure the services of ‘Mr X’. In any event, SBR’s catch is a coup and he is a welcome addition to the aging top ranks of V8 racing, possessing the ability, looks and personality to become the next Supercar superstar." Sponsor: "The name of the title sponsor won’t be familiar as the company involved is about to embark on a local rebranding to co-ordinate the identity of its trans-Pacific operations and emblazoning its altered identity all over the ‘Mr Xmobile’ will be a key plank in the launch its new look." |

If you read the press release on the V8supercar website the corporate colours of SBR's new sponsor is blue and isn't familiar to the series so you can probably count out Stegbar.

It says, "Pirtek’s unexpected withdrawal opened the way for one of the existing secondary supporters on Ambrose’s Falcon to step in as primary backer of the new car from next year".

It actually says the name won't be familiar because its part of a rebranding, I noticed Jeld-wen on the Stegbar website?
