Does someone know what's up with the Riley Mk.XIV LMP/LMGTP
I 'm so glad in following the news road to Lemans and something comes to my mind after see the premilinar entry list for Lemans...
What's up with the Riley LMP/LMGTP???, after many of us receive the news about the works by riley about this new desing we ain't hear something about it lately, or better say since long time ago...
Hope this project can see the track, the early drawings of the car show a very fine and spectacular car
If someone knows something please share...
Thanks...

As far as I know, the chassis' were going to be built if there were customers willing to buy them. So far, there seems to be no serious customer in line, but that can change in the near future (hopefully!)

In my opinion, Riley has to step up and prove their product if they expect anyone to pony up the cash to buy one.
And, since no teams seem to be willing to buy one sight unseen, the program is dead in the water.

They should race the car like others do . They have made a lot of cash from DP chassis so that shouldnt be the problem . Be great to see them back .

Until the factory runs the car or at least sets up a semi-works program (ala Matthews R&S Mk.IIIC) I don't see why anyone would lay down that kind of cash for a car. If Bill Riley was really serious about the design, he would have found a way to race the car... he's got a cash-cow in GARRA and unfortunately I don't see him straying from that series anytime soon.

I think calling his DP sales centre a "cash cow" is perhaps a bit optimistic. At the price he's selling them, the margins would be pretty thin. He's also got to support the Taylor Suntrust team, and I don't know if that's costing him anything...
Bill cares about winning certain races, and Le Mans is on the list. At some point a new Riley will appear... But I certainly wouldn't expect anything for 2006.

Some minor news...

Riley LMP1 update? Well, sort of. Bill Riley indicates that he traveled to Laguna Seca this weekend to speak with an interested party in regards to their Riley LMP1. The intent it still there within the company to pull this off. But as before, the right elements need to be in place before the car can proceed.

I think they have moved shop to North Carolina too, and I believe they are to be a heavy player in the COT?
Hopefully that will fill the coffers enough to look at getting a prototype out there again.

Yes they have moved to Mooresville, NC and yes they are a player in the COT. Its kinda of funny now that the two major builders in Grand-Am are now less than 20 miles apart from each other. I know as I live in the area.
