Thanks Andrew for confirming Gerrys' one off drive, I am sure I was there with the team to watch it, but I do recall that the team were upset that he never drove again for them, despite the obvious jokes about why the car broke.

The yaer I cannot recall, but it may have been when Ray Calcutt was banned for a year after a major argument with Gerry D'Amato at Brands in 1967 (I think).

Thanks to a recent posting in another place, it looks a though we can add Keith Holland to the list of Fraser Imp drivers - it appears that he sub'd for Tony Lanfranchi at the August 1967 Guards trophy meeting at Brands hatch. Holland went on to race Fraser's F5000 Lola.

My Father who died 7 years ago worked for Alan Fraser at his Hildenborough garage and i am sure he would have had the information you require.

Alas i was too young to take much notice and cant remember much apart from the cars being Blue and White, and cross of ST Andrew on the roof .

Have you seen the model here ?

I tthink I read somewhere, that the alloy used for the Imp block wasn't up to much and Alan Fraser commissioned a run of special blocks in a stronger alloy with tight tolerances that ended up in every successful Imp and Imp derivative, such as the Clan. Is there any truth in this? or is it a figment of my imagination?

driftwood has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Pete do you not have any photo of the frazer Imps in your fathers collection?

Unfortunately no, to my best knowledge but i will have a nose around and see if i come across anything.

I will also check with my uncle who was offered a Fraser engine for his racing sidecar, which he turned down as Alan insisted that he or his men alone must take the engine apart if it went wrong.

Stab in the dark

Hello,

I am new to this site, so be gentle.

I hope one of you will respond and I am not seriously 7 years to late!?!

I am hoping to get some information on the Fraser Imp and on any other cars that Alan Fraser was involved in the production of. there was one post suggesting his involvement in a road saloon car any names?

Also is there any dealers in these vehicles, I would love to get hold of one, however, as they are no longer in production, it sounds like they are only available as self-built replicas or collectors items.

Please any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
