DTM 2007 News, Rumours, Entries...
Hakinnen and Alesi tested DTM cars and next thing we know, they're on the starting grid. Could we see Damon Hill in a MB in' 07?

Or was it just a quick test to get a feel for the car before taking passengers out for 'taxi rides' at Brands?

racingworld.it reports Olivier Panis could drive a Mercedes in 2007.

Who they want to change?
Hakkinen, Green, Spengler & Schneider are a pretty strong troop. The most at risk on performance is Green...unless Schneider or Hakkinen are looking to quit/move on.

We have to think what car Panis would drive, a new car or other old?

I'm hoping that would mean another team will be racing in `07. Did all the recent F1 drivers get the latest spec cars when joined the DTM? Could that possibly give us clues as to a '07 campaign?

Hakkinen got the new car...they moved up to 5 2005 spec cars especially for him alongside Green, Schneider, Alesi & Paffett last season. Spengler had a 2004 spec car.
Alesi always ran with the top model, this year has been the exception being moved down to the Persson squad with Margaritis.
Frentzen always ran with the latest Opel...and this year has one of the four '06 Audi cars with Tomczyk, Ekstrom & Kristensen.

Certainly it could mean a new Mercedes team. Perhaps it means more cars from Audi/Mercedes?

Considering the state of the current DTM, would MB invest in developing a brand new C Class bodystyle? If it's going to race in '07, I expect MB to be already testing it on the track. And if they are testing it, wouldn't there be spy pics on the internet or making motorsport news?

It'd be brilliant to see Susie Stoddart in an up to date car next season.

I think they can put a new body on the car and don't need to develop a full new car. Last year Audi did the same.
