FIA/AMD 2006 Survey Results

here's a link to the 2006 survey results.

just going through it myself, not really any surprises, but what stands out for me so far is that the new Quali format seems to be a big success among those who parcipated.

Ditto. I personally voted for the qualifying format to be scrapped and I thought that was the general feeling.

at the begining of the season i was right there with you with my dislike for the new format. i was of the express opinion that it wouldn't last and just result in unnecessary accidents. but i was wrong and it has started to grow on me as it has provided some very exciting moments.

maltafan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Looks like fans tend to side with team/driver coming from thier country. Seems pretty clear Williams and Webber's followers in Australia and Sato and Aguri's followers from Asia!

91% of fans think that F1 should be a showcase for technology, but only 28% thought that it was the most exciting part of F1.

I wonder what Max made of that?

The first thing that strikes me is how few people filled out this survey 91,934 only.

I loved the remark about creating a survey just for China as it is a important booming market....

How many people took it? 348!!!!!!

And that Kimi Raikkonen's a popular fellow isn't he?!

DC also highly thought of by the 'public', but ahead of the departed JPM and JV with their fan bases and supposed global mass appeal??

Who exactly participated in this years survey and where are they from?

The overtaking bit struck as a given, but still nothing is immediately introduced to increase the chances of it...

I imagine a lot of JPM fans turned on him when he dared to look outside F1 for his future career. This is a hellish sin, in the eyes of many fans, who have seen no racing series outside of F1.

Part of the appeal of supporting a driver like JPM, for me, is that many find him hateful!
