Trophee Saloon car
Hi guys. Has anyone raced in this series for 60's/70's saloons in France? It looks fun and I'm trying to find out more. Would be keen on doing a few rounds as its nearer to me than Germany for the Youngtimer series.

I raced with them at Spa back in 1999 (ish). They had an interesting approach to driving standards. All blocking and weaving. Quite probably changed now though. I do recall they were running their cars on slicks at the time.
Gave us a nice bottle of wine and a "T" shirt as part of our entry.

Hey thays nearly swung it for me guys. Free wine and a T-shirt!! Almost like being paid. I get the impression that the cars are a bit 'hot rod' but I dont mind if I have someone to scrap with.

Well I was on treaded tyres and I think I recall overtaking loads of em. As I said I suspect the driving standards have improved no end, they never came back to spa. I do recall being on the inside of a Mustang that tried to turn through me into les Fanges. He stayed behind but I inherited a door handle shaped dent. Ooh and there were two BMW 2002s that tried to sandwich me though Stavelot (I thought it was an interesting approach). On the basis that it was safer in front of them I overtook them through Blanchiment.

That's them. Looks like they run to a modified/Group 2 format these days.
Terry,
If you do buy a saloon make sure you stock the right brands of whiskey.

Thats them Eddy. They did Spa this year as well as Croix and others. They appear to run to Gp.2 spec but I cant figure thats of the period or just their own idea of Gp.2, ie anything goes. My car is a Gp2 ish spec (dont have the money for a Collotti or big huge wheels!!) but very much of the period.

Gordon Streeter
I Have Raced With The French Boys Over The Years In England
And Abroad. They Seem Okay But They Dont Like Being Beaten.
They Have Some Very Trick Cars And Seem To Make The Rules Up
On The Day! Some Of Their Slicks Are As Wide As My Anglia
But I Have Beaten Most Of Them In The Last Ten Years !
