Touring Car Fantasy Championship

A while ago, me and Hazard were discussing having a Fantasy Championship for touringcars. Touring Car Racing is a great basis for a Fantasy Championship. the series would be multi series, so there is no bias towards any series, or having lots of Fantasy games popping up! If anyone has any intrest, then let me know!

WWWOOOAAAAHHH! Hold your horses! Its not orginised yet.... But if you feel the urge to joina league, there is the V8 League, there is one round to go! that should scratch your itch untill this starts. And you can make your own liveries, I have a few templates there if you like.

Oh, and driver prices should be up soon aswell, so there is no need to pick Drivers... And its not just BTCC, its Any touring Car Driver from the main Series'. So DTM, BTCC, WTCC, STCC, and any others? The points system will be complicated though.

Nicky, I think you'd better ask yourself a few questions before thinking about running this...

Are you ready to run this?
Can you handle all the calculations etc. that are required for this?
Are you sure you can run 4 separate Fantasy Championships at once?
Do you think enough people will want to join?
Are you prepared to make a commitment to this?
Will you be able to handle all the complaints/questions you may get?
And lastly, do you think you are old enough to handle all of this?

These Fantasy Championships seem to be popping up everywhere. I have no problem with that. The V8 Supercar & Champ Car ones are very successful because they are maintained regularly by the runner/s of the comp because they are commited to it and don't want to let people down. I don't know whether I can make a fair judgement on your commitment, but after about a month of preparations for your Gran Turismo Racing League you gave up on it and I had to take over. I'm just not sure whether you can commit to this. It would be a shame if you did, for example, finish two rounds and say you've had enough, because it may put some people on this forum off the idea of a Fantasy Championship when it really is a good idea.

Ultimately though, the decision comes down to you. If you think you are up to it, and let me tell you it is not easy (MotoGP Fantasy Championship- Bike Racing forum ). I've been working tirelessy over the past few weeks to sort out everything I can about my Fantasy Championship and I am willing to commit for at least the 2007 season, and most probably beyond. But if you are not up to this, please don't leave the people of this forum with bad memories of a Fantasy Championship. When they are run properly and run well they can be a lot of fun.

Hi, though NickyF1 and I spoke some time ago about this...we hadn't gone into detail into the inner workings of this as yet - and the announcement is somewhat premature I feel.

The idea was to look at adding a Fantasy Touring Car championship as part of the contests on the touring car forum next year, alongside the predictions competitions which may be revised.

The scoring, drivers pricing etc. I was planning to look after myself, as NickyF1 has already indicated to me he wouldn't have the time to do that. I'd already started some test runs on this years championship for feasability.

Chiefly though, any announcement on details, prices rules etc. wasn't going to be until next year - since driver line-ups for the touring categories are rarely decided just prior to the championship commences.

So, still a while before anything can happen on this...but now the thread's here, it's good to see some people are interested.

Please, do not flood the forum with badly done 'liveries' that look like they've been done in MS Paint. They will be removed if they become a nuisance.

MS Paint is good! Look at some of my work! If we do do liveries, I think there should be a restriction to stop people like me changing everyday.

rcarr has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
We did a touring car project as a bit of fun for our 1st week on the motorsport MSc at Cranfield uni.

I have attached the creation of my group. An Easy.com sponsored Renault Megane.

I think we should not do multi series, and just concentrate on the WTCC, the multi thing is very complicated, because all the series run different numbers of Races, they all have different legnths and the seasons end at different times. We should base it on WTCC Drivers, and you can pick any car from any series just to make up for the multi thingy.

so we will be able to do the following

cars from any series i gather this is BTCC, WTCC
drivers only from WTCC
same event schedule as WTCC
same event dates as WTCC

sounds good but im left with what drivers to pick when this starts up i was originally going to have tom chilton and colin turkington so will this choice now be voided?
