FIA GT1 diecast models
So does anyone collect 1/18 or 1/43 versions of FIA GT1 cars from the mid nineties like the BMW Mclaren F1, MB CLK GTR, Toyota GT One, Lotus Elise GT1, Porsche GT1, Nissan R390?
Out of interest, does anyone know why the Nissan R390 was never made in 1/18 scale?
Or except for the '97 Nissan R390, why the Mclaren F1s seem to be the most expensive out of all these models?
I have one 1/18 of each of the models except for the GT One and Mclaren F1.

I'm going to move this thread over to Armchair Enthusiast. You're asking some fairly specific questions which I believe will be best answered there.
The link will remain here on Sportscar and GT. It won't, therefore, be missed by members in this section of the forum who would like to offer some input.
Good luck!

Tamiya made a 1/43rd diecast of the 1997 Nissan R390 as well, but it is not easy to find (there are possibly two slightly different versions as well).
Other than the Le Mans versions of various GT1 cars, not too many were made in 1/43rd. Exceptions being a couple of Panoz GTRs made by AutoArt and the Suzuka 1000km version of the Toyota GT-1 made by Onyx.

They sell easily for over $120US on Ebay. There's a buy it now seller for $199US for the R390.
I recently bought a 1/18 Autoart Mclaren F1, but it was heavily damaaged during shipping to me, more like a writeoff! It was just too good to be true--$86 and in Canada for me. Sighh...

Check out Spark models, they've made recent 1/43rds of the Mercedes CLK-GTR/LM/CLR, Lotus Elise GT1, Lister Storm GT/GTL and De Tomaso Pantera amongst others.
Vitesse/Onyx/IXO made the 911 GT1-98, Toyota GT-ONE, Panoz, Nissan R390.
Minichamps made the Panoz, Toyota GT-ONE, 911 GT1 96/97/98.
Maisto made the CLK-GTR/LM
AutoArt are also due to release a new high end 1/18 model of the Nissan R390 GT1.

The Lark McLaren F1 GTR shifts very well - one online now for £155 in damaged condition. I write a monthly bit in Model Collector magazine on buying and selling motorsport models.
JAG sell me another box if you want...

A friend of a friend has a bit of a 'thing' about the McF1... he's got every one that was ever made Now that's serious money! I am happy with just the one (95 LM winner)

No worries
I've made on a few recently like a Kyosho Daytona Competition which went for £100 and a Subaru WRC Nightrace car for £155!
Paid £30 each.

Hmm, I wonder how much the models will cost then? Since I started collecting GT1 cars in 1/18, I hope to complete the entire collection in 1/18.
So I'm just missing 3 more.

£59-£100 as they are high end models like the Mazda 787B.

Finally added a Toyota GT One to my collection. All I need is a 1/18 Nissan R390. However, it seems Auto Art's R390 is forever waiting to be released. Has it been canx?
Someone recently mentioned it will probably sell in excess of $200US???
Am I missing anyone else from the same period--BMW Mclaren F1, Lotus Elise GT1, MB CLK GTR,Nissan R390, Panoz GT-R, Porsche GT1, Toyota GT One?

I saw McLarens irregularly for a while, but now I can afford to buy a model when I feel like it, which I didn't back then they've largerly disappeared!!
Remember seeing Schnitzer/Fina longtail ones (Maisto?) Gulf, Davidoff and EMKA versions.
Last time I saw any was at the Silverstone Classic mall in the paddock last year.
The Fina Lehto racecar was one of my all time favourite's, great driver in a great car. I need to buy one but where from and how much?

I wouldn't pay over the odd's for older models, they'll be re-made in a year or three by another manufactuer.
