Brabham green and gold

What is the earliest record of the "traditional Brabham green/gold" colours?

Were the original works F1 Brabhams not plain green?

All the best
Marcus

The first F1 Brabham was a Turqoise & gold 1962-changed to BRG & gold in 63.You might be thinking of the Lotus 24 that Jack used before BT3 was ready. That was a bright green.

This is my BT2 in 1963 - Ted Carter driving at the Okinawa Grand Prix. I presume it was painted this way in 1962 when driven by Bob Olthoff - it would have had the green and gold colours of South Africa - are South African and Australian colours the same?

Comonwealth racing colours issued c .1958
Australia;green & gold
New Zealand;green & silver
Sth Africa;green & buff
However I do not recall ever seeing a green & buff car.Colour mags were rare in those days, but my impression is that most springboks preferred green & gold.
I remember Bob Olthoff racing in the UK-think his car was a plain dark green-may have photos or 8mm film in my store room.Never heard of the Okinawa GP-what sort of circuit was that?

Ted Carter was an American service man based in Okinawa. He bought the car from Olthoff (via Frank Williams). I think he even organised that "Grand Prix". I found the picture on his own website:

http://www.edwardcarterstravels.com/...001.php#000001

He says there were 60 cars and 250,000 spectators! There was probably not much to do in those days on Okinawa! Presumably the race was around the airfield there. I also have a picture of him on the grid at Macao in 1963. I have never seen any pictures of Olthoff driving the car, apart from one which is not very clear, but where the car does indeed appear to be in a plain colour, so I would appreciate it if you find some! Maybe all the works Brabhams were repainted this way in 1963, including Olthoff’s private one.
