fullSPEED should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Pepsi 400

On Saturday, the NASCAR Nextel Cup moves to Daytona International Speedway for the Pepsi 400. With ten races left before the start of the “Chase for the Nextel Cup”, a lot of teams are fighting to qualify for 2nd half portion of the season. Any driver or team, who wishes to participate in the “Chase”, must be in the top-10 or within 400 points of the leader. Currently, only four drivers are within 400 points of the leader Jimmie Johnson. If this pace continues, only 10 drivers will qualify for the championship.

Can't wait, I love the plate races.

I thought it was the top 15 that qualified for the chase, then was wondering why Darrel and the crew were always talking about the top 10 in points :P

Believe the ruling is the top 10 at the cutoff point, plus any drivers still within 400 points of the leader. In past seasons, this has meant just the top 10 drivers only each year that the chase has been running.

Yeh worked that out..and now they want to change it :P It sounds stupid, but in the 'chase' races, there is going to be more than just the eligible cars right?? ie: still a 43 car field?

Anyway, good race, Great to see Boris Said on Pole, and ended up 4th by staying out on the last yellow. Hendrick and Roush car were doing well till the last 2 yellows..

Yeah, everyone else is still fighting it out for 11th place and back in the points standings, just they're out of contention for the top 10. And if I remember correctly, the 11th place driver gets a big prize at the end of the season.
