neilap should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
"BMW Powah"

I was one of the most vocal people saying BMW does not have a 900hp motor. Well it is possible that I was wrong again. Here is a quote from Eddie Jordan...

Eddie Jordan: I'm not giving any secrets away, it was made very clear by Patrick's partner, Frank, who made it very clear that by the end of the year he would have 900 horsepower to qualify with or maybe more.

Oh my God, maybe they did find the fountain of Gold!

Well, from what you say they don't have a 900bhp motor... yet..

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest, technology has snowballed these last few years. I remember 10 years ago when they banned turbochargers the cars were 3.5 litres with 650bhp. Now they are 500cc less with 200+bhp more! It's all down to higher revving engines and more advanced engine management systems.

I think the BMW engines have better torque characteristics. They always seem to get off the line incredibly well. Plus a well sorted-out traction control helps.

The value of having JPM in the team.

Oh really? So is JPM inside Ralf's car at the start of Australia GP?

I think Eddie was, as usual, whining about something or the other. Patrick did correct him later on -

PH: Firstly, if I could correct Eddie. I don't know what Frank said at whatever meeting, but we don't have and have never had a qualifying engine. Any engine we qualify with, the same specification is available on Sunday. Every now and then there may be a new development that we may use in qualifying first and then in the next race it will be a race spec, but there is no such thing as a qualifying engine. There never has been.

Exactly how much BMW POwer drives the Williams on race weekends is a matter up for debate. But Frank isent going to spill any secrets, least of all to a motor mouth like Eddie Jordan. So, I think Eddie was just running his mouth as usual.

Well I hope so. It just seemed like a huge number. It sucks when you dont get the whole interview. I only got the quote from Eddie. Oh well!
