Mr.S should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
OK lets see:
Master button in third driving a Williams BMW. My hart was doing overtime on his final run where he was just 1/10th of a second slower then Mika in the first sector.

Tin tin, i mean Hakkinen seven tenths quicker that any body ells, I'm not that surprised.

The large chined one could only manage 4th, what was wrong with the Ferrari's?

Coulthard and Frentzen are probably not gonna be best of friends after that session.

And it was Alasi's Prost that spun at the end right?

Any additions?

Off to bed know, it's 5:30 am here.

Bravo Jenson!
I wonder if he's read the thread on "How to start from third" at Spa?

I'm very disappointed for DC-Trulli ruined his run, and then Frentzen, driving a car that looked like a real pig nearly pulled off a good one only to encounter DC at the chicane.

Its going to be very interesting tomorrow.

Well, this ought to show Jenson Button's critics a thing or two. Spa is a track he knows from F3, and he's outqualified his very capable team-mate, as well as both TGF and DC. I hope he has a good race tomorrow.

Hakkinen also impressed, back on pole with a very clear margin. And of course Trulli, a brilliant qualifying performance.

Also worth noting I think is Herbert outqualifying Irvine. It looks like Johnny's been rejuvenated after it was announced he will be going to CART next season. Heidfeld outqualifying Alesi was also impressive.

Yes, well done Jenson. But is anyone else really annoyed at Murray Walker's obvious bias towards Button? Fair enough, give support to the Brits, but I think he takes it a tad too far.

Let's keep the Murray Walker discussion in this topic and out of this one.

Well, well, well... once again Jenson turns on the style when he gets onto a circuit which he has driven before. Let's hope he proves a few of his knockers wrong next season when he starts the year with a full season of experience...

Go JB!

Jensen did look amazing out there. He walked all over his teammate. I am wondering if this is what we can expect from him next year when he knows all of the circuits. I also wonder if Frank will be regretting his decision to loan out Button for Montoya.

Trulli did a great job too, although I knew he did not have a shot at the pole, as Mika ruled through Blanchimont. And I am not too happy about the move he pulled on DC.

Just a not so great day for Ralf, He could have gotten closer if he had another run left. But either way I'm happy there are two Williams BMW's in the top 6, amazing for Munichs first season. Yes the chassis and the drivers are perfect aswell.

Okay, okay--call me wildly optimistic but I still think Schu is going to win that one, especially if it rains. If not, Hakkinen may be too fast to catch but then again, who knows-a different fuel strategy or a great start may change the odds. I think we are up to an exciting race though. As in Hockenheim we again have fast cars qualifying behind which should mean unconventional strategies and (hopefully) overtaking. Now if we could only have some rain and a looney ...Arrgh, I am off to pray for rain now!

Bunsen has certainly put his critics into a state of confusion. Maybe Frank will regret letting him go to Beneton-Renault for the next two years.

Stars of the day were Jarno and Jenson - despite me watching a recording of it I was still screaming at the tv as Jarno went round.

Poor old Gene - held up on a quick lap by Alesi, a set of tyres which couldn't be used meaning the car handled like ****...

Never mind...

Ralf's Girl, you will be pleased to hear (maybe not pleased)that Ralf had alot of understeer through the slower corners, that is why he isn't closer to Bunsen. It makes sense, Ralf's times took a big drop through the bus-stop, he seemed to have a good lap then his final time was over a second down on Mika. Hope fully they will fix the problem and we will have two fast Williamseseses.

And Minardi Fan, Gene still out qualified Mazzacane even with the bad luck!

I have to wait more than three hours before the start. This is agony. I wonder if Bunsen will get through the first corner - he hasn't chucked it into the shrubs yet this year, and this will definitely be a test for him.
Lets hope that both Bunsen and Jarno will get on the podium.
