Another red flag? At least they got more time added this morning, not going to get much done in this session...

Just might be; don't think Mr. Pickett is as quick as his co-drivers.

Audi and Peugeot were putting down 1:08s on Monday, so I think there's still pace to be had.

And according to McNish's Twitter, TK said that PLM will be like a safety car period with legalized overtaking because of how packed the track will be.

And as far as incidents and maybe getting down to 53 entries by qualifying, sadly, it's natural selection it seems, and it'll likely be the pro-am teams that suffer the most.

FP2 just ended: Audi, Pug, Audi, Pug, covered by .12 sec.

And I'm seeing a trend--it seems whenever Audi runs less laps than Peugeot, Audi is faster, and when Peugeot runs fewer laps than Audi, Peugeot's faster. Any correlation?

And times are still well down from the 1:08s that were turned on Monday.

Probably low fuel runs then? if they keep it this even during the race it's going to exciting!

According to timing and scoring for about a minute the #98 Jaguar XKR of Shane Lewis set a 1:10:089 laptime, fail.

Just got into my ATL motel and pulled up t & s for night practice. The P1s sure pounded out the laps and seem tightly competitive as do the GTs. Does anyone remember if this number of laps in night practice is typical?

I don't remember them running all the way up to 9:00 in the past. I certainly was surprised to see the big 4 running up until the checkered.

So we have an incredibly full and talented grid. When Saturday comes to an end...is Petit's future the better or worse for it? Seems like a lot of the teams already think its going to go badly. Personally, I think its awesome. I love seeing my ALMS guys, and I want to see them mixing it up with the best from around the globe.

According to DSC the #7 Pug did 85 laps in 2 hours, extrapolate that to 10 hours and it would be 425 laps... they must have been running at flat-out race pace for the whole session (considering the race is 394 laps).

I wish seeing as how they were p2 until they were practically alone on track. Its all just games IMO at this point in the week.

Well, they were running hot laps for probably 3/4 of the session.

Without cautions, and running hard from start to finish, the diesels could do the 394 laps in under 8 hours.

Whilst I tend to agree with you - it is absolutely clear that any cars that can run a clean race will be in with a good shout - so maybe we will see more running a sensible race for the first few hours to try and stay clear of trouble. - we have been surprised before at busy street circuits.....

I meant they won't get to that amount of laps because there will be a couple of safety car periods. I do agree that the car that has a clean race probably will win.

Strakka at Hungaroring last year?

That was against a sole diesel entry, though.
