Rained out qualifying for the showdown meant the order was drawn out of a hat...should make the first couple laps interesting. Kirk Shelmerdin and Carl Long drew 1 and 2 but move to the back of the field for an engine and "not being able to present himself for inspection", respectively.

..and a little caution filled, sometimes.
some quick cars tho. penske 1/2 right now but John Paul was chargin hard on the high side late in segment 1. dexter bean holding down a solid 21st, right in front of bill elliott. |

sam hornish and jamie mac take the transfer spots...

Sam Hornish Jr. wins the Showdown and gets into the race along with Jamie McMurray.
Joey Logano though wins the fan vote and gets in. Why do such non-deserving drivers gather a fan following in NASCAR? |
