Marshals Required - Leinster Motor Club - Anglesey - 22/23 May

Marshals are urgently required for the Leinster Motor Club 2 day Anglesey race meeting on 22/23 May.
It promises to be a feast of Irish championship races with a double header of NW FF1600s and a round of the JCC Centurian Challenge thrown in for good measure.
Irish classes include :
Fiat Uno / Punto
Dunlop Stryker
Irish Historic Racing Cars
Irish FF1600

As the Touring Cars are at Oulton that weekend, marshals are thin on the ground.
Anybody interested in marshalling at an Irish meeting on home soil is urged to contact Barry Timlin at
leinstermc@eircom.net

Make it a weekend away for the other half. A mini holiday on the magnificent Isle of Anglesey with two or three days motor racing thrown in.

Also a couple more marshals are required for the Friday Test Day. This will be busy, as testing is included with the race entry. Contact ff1600.nw@ntlworld.com

Mark it's not a link - it's an email address. They don't have a website.

You all have to go - our friend Jonathan is racing his Uno that weekend and I'd like to know he's in good hands! We'd go but it's the BSB at Mondello that weekend.....

Well H,

I am THINKING about it!

I have emailed the named person above but have not yet had a reply.

There were problems with this meeting last year whereas you volunteered for it but heard nothing back. Then you got a b********g for not turning up.
They might work on the Telepathy method!

Don't expect too much in the way of paperwork to come from the organising club.

They're not used to organising marshals - as the MRMCI normally look after all of that for them in Mondello. Plus, we don't normally send out passes etc as they're not normally necessary for us to gain access to the circuit. I realise this is different to how you normally work.

If anyone wants to copy their emails to me at derek.harnett@mrmci.com I'll ensure they are passed on to Leinster.

Finally, I'm considering coming over to play that weekend myself (as I've enjoyed both racing and marshaling in Anglesea in the past) so I might get to see some of you there :-)

That's a civilised start time and I now find myself free next weekend so I will ask for some tickets (to the email noted above) and apologise for not being organised before now.

Regards

Jim

Jim, bluebeard et al.
Forget tickets if you don't hear from Leinster MC. Just tell the gate staff you are marshalling - no other silly sods will turn up that early. If need be, mention me.

Thanks Diz. Leinster MC have been in contact and tickets will be on the gate (they, probably wisely, don't reckon that four days is enough for the post).

I never like to increase the gate staff's problems unless I have to - but generally find that they are helpful.

See you there.

Regards

Jim
