That good news for FLM, I liked the r8 in grand am. Not very competive except for daytona.but with Audi support FLM should be a good team to run it.i just hope they don't screw up the cars balance trying to bop it to the Porsche America.

David Land has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

Yes, and the question I was replying to was about COTA, one such track.

Alex Gurney and Jon Fogarty confirmed for Daytona, so GAINSCO is confirmed for NAEC at the minimum

I disagree with the parking lot. I think Fuji is awesome as well as the two others you mentioned. I never really liked the new Silverstone though

So Gainsco gets to do what other teams were told they couldn't do. Based on their history with GA? Isn't that still "taking a spot from full season teams" or some similar reason given by the sactioning body for not allowing others to enter only the NAEC?
This team really seems to be the series favorite.

Yes but I don't think car counts are materializing to be what the series thought they would be in the proto class. Do now they are adjusting.

Lots of paved run-off with no gravel traps.
I think the point was, that the racing was still very close at COTA, despite not having any cautions.

They put the caps in place, released the DP upgrades, and the DP teams wigged out. Now they're either dropping 1 car, moving to another class, or leaving the series all together.

It looks really weird on the Audi.

I think this question will be easier to answer when we hear from the Muscle Milk team. I hope they announce something this week. When they announce what they will do it will be THE headline of the day for sure.

How similar or different will a TUSK Audi R8 be from one that runs in Blancpain/FIA GT?

It depends on whether they will still be running the Grand-Am spec or will allow the GT3 spec. My guess is that any GT3-spec R8s will be BoPd down to the Grand-Am spec R8s to stay level with the other GTD cars.

If it is only Grand-Am spec, then that means smaller spoiler, no windows, rollcage, stock gearbox, less aero, less power.

I think that no matter what else transpires, there is no doubt at this stage that the spec GTD rear wing will be required. The photos of FL testing the R8 seem to show a very small rear wing, though I've not taken the time to compare photos and see if it is the current wing or the new spec wing a la the 911 GT America.

Having seen prob 10 examples, the roadster is MUCH better and black is a great color. First time I saw the coupe I thought it was a new TT but there's no mistaking the open top and luckily tops are still down on nice days here in Atlanta.

Why do the GT cars have no window? Can't be on safety grounds now, DP and now GTLM don't have them.

And I don't really think that doors with windows would be more expensive then doors without.

Is it just to slow them down or what?

Aston Martin Vantage GTE will be at the Sebring and Daytona test under the TRG-AMR banner.

http://www.endurance-info.com/fr/trg...n-gtlm-et-gtd/

I'm guessing this is the Vantage GTE that Aston Martin left behind after the COTA WEC round.

The Grand Am car has the 2013-spec diffusor, though, that was deemed too radical in European competition.
