Final round of the Qld State Championship is this weekend at Morgan Park, Warwick.

Qualifying is on Saturday morning with non-stop racing Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday. Can't remember the prices, but i think it might be less than $20. That includes free admission to the pits. 3 or 4 races for each group. Groups are:-

Formula Ford
Formula Vee
Sports Sedans
Sports Cars
Improved Production Touring Cars
Saloon Cars
HQs
Geminis
Group N Historic Touring Cars
Superkarts

Fine and warm both days, I'll see you there!

I believe there are 17 Geminis and 18 Group N Historics. I don't know what the fields are like for the other groups.

Big fields in some categories and some great racing over the weekend. Officials did a great job in hot, dry conditions.

The proposed Morgan Park track extension was also confirmed as fact by Bill Campbell and will be completed by mid-2009. Will make the track 3km long with 9 different configurations. Will feature a fast 'hero' corner similar to the hayshed at PI and the front straight will double in length.

Hopefully that will bring some interstate competitors out to what already is a great track and motorsport-friendly town at Warwick.

It ended up being a great weekend of racing. The meeting ran to schedule all weekend, congrats and thank you to all the volunteer officials.

Great news about the track extension too, should make a great little track even better.

Paul.

I'd like to second the big thanks to all the officials, it was one of the best meets of the year. The Sports Cars were having ding dong battles all through the field, I've got some great incar footage..

WHHaaaaaTTT - 2 1/2 hours, you must be on a Moped.

Morgan Park is 100km from the front gate of Queensland Raceway, and Queensland Raceway is 50km from the Brisbane CBD, so if you averaged 80km/h you can do the 150km in around 1hr 53mins.

Even my old mate's MG can average better than 80km/h to Morgan Park from Brisbane !.

Unless you come from Caboolture TCR ?.

For those with Ooogle Earth, the co-ords are 28d 15' 45" S and 152d 02' 00" E

Well I come from the south side of Brissy and towing a car takes me about 2 hours 10 minutes on average, so it was an estimate only.

Wasn't that funny
