FT200

How does one go about finding an old style FT200 gear box?

You can still get these - have you tried Hewland directly or BPA?

I purchased one last year. Not cheap though.....

Depends a bit which casing you need there are two early FT200s:
The earliest one with 2 bolts underneath is very hard to find;
Chasing round the restoration companies and spare parts people should find a later 4 bolt one.

You then need to make sure you have the right sideplates for your installation.

You can order a brand new one with the 4 bolt casing from Mark Bailey, in magnesium or aluminium - this can be specified with whatever sideplates etc you want, so the cost might not be as bad as it looks.
