A1GP - Zhuhai will it happen?
I live in Hong Kong and I have been quite eager to attend this race in Zhuhai, since I missed it in 2007...
If you have any info as to whether this is going to happen or not, then please share it along this thread.

Nothing can be certain anymore. I am quite sure they will try to make it happen, but even team owners like Alan Jones and Jan Lammers are losing faith

Unlikely, they now owe even more money and Ferrari are probably on the verge of pulling the plug.

I would really like to see Zhuhai happen but I now sincerely have big doubts...
Another problem is the condition of the cars... Engines have not been redone, there are no spare parts and Brands Hatch was already critical.
What kind of a race can we expect from cars in this kind of hape?

Same goes for having a contract with an Australian government - but A1 still broke it.
I hope for your sake that the race goes ahead but I severely doubt it.

Even if Tony Teixeria wants to have a race in China, it's a bit difficult if you don't have cars or engines ...

I've been a fan of A1GP. I like the concept and the cars, but patience has run out so it's time for it to end or get sold off.
I can't remember the numbers now but they have had quite a few canceled races over the years.

One this season (so far!) and three last, I think? Add to that the whole Beijing farce and it doesn't appear to be a great track record.
This isn't a eulogies thread, but the nation versus nation concept is a valid one, it's just that A1GP have completely the wrong vehicle for it. A 1-week world cup using a common set of technical regulations (I've said it before and I'll probably say it again, SCCA Formula 1000 should be the basis for a worldwide formula for junior drivers and club racing) and three-driver teams a bit like the EFDA Nations Cup would have been a better idea, but there was less potential money in that format.

Who knows? Nothing A1GP releases can be trusted. Last year was Mugello, this year it's Gold Coast. The press release that supposedly says he has funding for 4 years? If there was funding, the cars would not have been impounded in the first place. Whatever, Tony.

Here's to hoping Zhuhai does happen. Even though I'm only saying that, because i don't want to see the demise of the series in this manner.
