Mr West in talks with 4 car manufacturers

Dunno if you heard as you lot were actually at the race itself, but I listened to TOCA radio from the comfort of my uncomfortable office chair. After the racing AH interviewed Mr West, he said they TOCA were in talks with 4 manufacturers for next year.

Although all this talk of new teams and things are v good, banding around figures like that are no good if they are not backed up by cars actually appearing on the grid.

If TOCA are in talks with 4 makes, we'll have 1 more for next year, (which makes up 4, Pug, Vaux, MG, ?Seat/VW?)

... I don't think they are THAT desperate... Maybe they should bring back some of the old guys so we can see some serious racing! Smoking Jo Winkelhock and Tim Harvey would bond nicely in a VW!

4 manufacturers for next year-seems kinda obvious really, surely?;

Vauxhall
Pug
MG
Lexus

Add in a five or six of this years cars, plus teams like JSM, Barwell and GA-Janspeed in the BTCT, we've got a bloody good championship!

Ask me a few months ago and I too would have said Volvo. But Autosport have reported that Lexus is close to entering, and I believe them. Autosport has got a crystal ball. October/November '99 they said Rover/MG were coming back, and then they reported Peugeot last year.
