Reido Rules should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Porsche DTM entry?

It has been reported in autosport that Porsche are interested in joining the DTM.

What car would they use, and wouldn't ti wipe the floor with the others. Unusual category for porsche to enter.

Probably just having a dig at BMW for them running a touring car in GT racing...

If you read the rest of the article - 911 GT3

Not a coupe and certainly not a touring car but then the small matter of rules doesn't appear to be a problem in the DTM.

Yes, It seems that the ITR would let a JCB in the DTM if they're was a serious proposal....

Funnily enough, it wouldn't be the first time the 911 has raced as a Touring Car-Porsche somehow managed to get it homologated as a touring car back in the 60's- Vic Elford raaced one in the BTCC around 1967/8

It's just me, but I would somehow have a hard time accepting Porsche's entry into the DTM? Perhaps, it's b/c the car is too racy and sporting to begin with??? To me, I find it more interesting that more simple/plain cars like the Astra and CLK are racing. It would be even better if the rumored Acura RSX and Lexus IS300 were racing!!! Anyone else share my opinion??

Money isn't everything, but typically, MB can outspend Porsche which gives MB greater chances of keeping their championship??? What do you guys think? It would be REAL interesting if a Japanese make enters the DTM like the rumored Acura Integra and Lexus IS300...

Sadly, I'll believe that when I see it- there have always been rumours of extra non-German manufacturers joining the DTM, but somehow it never seems to happen- I can believe the Porsche rumours, but that's about it.

Just a thought- might BMW be tempted given their present ALMS problems?- they do have a nice 4-litre V8 ready to use after all....
