Minardi 3rd driver
So, PS has had this idea of giving a local driver a run on the Friday test-xtra to bump up sonsorship. My question of the day - who will it be. (Ignoring sponsorship - sponsor a local driver and national race, shouldn't be a problem and any potential superlicence difficulties).
I can see a good few posibilities for Australia: James Courtney or Will Power; same for the UK - Robbie Kerr or Ant Davidson if he doesn't get a 'proper' drive. Some countries though I'm stuck on - Hungary? :confused: Any other ideas? |

Zsolt Baumgartner (sp?) is from Hungary.
Wait till 2004, then we'll have to find drivers from Bahrain and Turkey (or wherever)... |

I'm sure Emmo or Nelson Piquet will always be able to produce some flavor-of-the-month for Minardi. |

Monaco ? French San Marino ? Italian US ? whoever will be it will be a bad choice(I just wanna say that american drivers linked with F1 are bad, not all american drivers) |

Bryan Herta, who's been linked to Minardi, is a good guy and a fast driver... But he really doesn't have a killer instinct, doesn't pull out anything special under pressure. |

Australia = James Courtney
Malaysia = Mohammed Fairuz Brazil = Fabio Carbone San Marino = Manuel Poggiali (races bikes, but can't think of another person) Spain = Marcel Costa Austria = Matthias Lauda Monaco = Clivio Piccione Canada = Billy Asaro Germany = Nico Rosberg France = Bruce Jouanny Great Britain = Robbie Kerr Germany = Roland Rehfeld (ASCAR racer, used to be in single seaters) Hungary = Zsolt Baumgartner Italy = Giorgio Pantano United States = Richard Antinucci Japan = Shinya Hosokawa Its not that hard to find one for each country. San Marino is the one that doesn't have any single seater drivers, but has motorcycle racers. Last edited by Speedworx; 25 Dec 2002 at 21:30. |

I'd like to see Sarah Fisher actually race - after that test with McLAren this year - and with Indy experience (I know, wrong way round etc. - but experience!!)

Girls can't race in F1. They are better suited to the proper racing world of ovals.

For Germany, why not Marcel Lasse?
Also, I think for the race in San Marino, an Italian will suffice, especially since the race isn't even in San Marino. Last edited by mac; 25 Dec 2002 at 22:21. |

Gawd save us macho misogynists. Sarah Fisher qualified on pole position for the IRL race at Kentucky earlier this year and finished 18th in the series.That's not a bad achievement. Is it written in women's genes that they can't drive clockwise?

N. Rosberg is born in Germany, that's why I don't like him.

I have to say that I did forget that Rosberg is Finnish and not German. I didn't even plan to have him for the European GP.
Worked out nicely overall to cover my mistakes |
