Rule Fixing?
Remember Tom Rubython? Used to be the publisher of F1 Magazine, and always got into arguments with most of the paddock. Well, after leaving F1 Magazine and Euro Business; and getting in the news lately for losing a legal action for not getting F1 media accreditation; he's produced a (£25) magazine - Business F1.
Sadly, it won't help him getting that press pass, as the latest cover story is that Max Mosely 'fixed' the outcome of the 1994 FIA World Council disciplinary hearing into the missing fuel filter on Benetton's fuel rig at Hockenhiem, giving TGF the title. Apparantly, this information comes from the late George Carman QC, who had tld his son about the case just before his death. The FIA plan to sue... |

Ugh. He picked the wrong place to publish it! The standard for proving libel is still quite favorable to the plaintiff in the UK, he should have set up shop here for legal purposes, as the bar in our courts is relatively high.

Rule fixing in F1? You mean about what they did at the end of last year... overhauling the rulebooks JUST TO stop Michael from winning?

"Just to STOP Michael from winning?" When has THAT ever happened?
If this poor fellow has just discovered that F1 is not a sport, but an entertainment, I expect the next thing he will discover is that water is wet and vodka will make him drunk. |

Well, the rules/regulations changed this year is indeed mainly aimed at increasing the "excitment" by attempting to restrict, if not reduce, Ferrari/Michael's domination. How else can one explain the reduction of the points difference for 1st and 2nd, than to prevent MS from wrapping up the WDC at mid-season?
Rules in F1 are changed, or fixed...but not in favour for just a particular team/driver. |

No, it's just a coincidence, I'm sure.
As people are wearyingly found of repeating, F1 is All About Money, especially Money for Bernie. When the race is over before the season reaches the halfway point, people start watching other things or go to the beach on Sundays, and Bernie loses money. Then whatever it is that is causing people not to pay him their money has to be fixed. Or "cured" if you don't like the connotation of the word 'fixed'. Bernie and the majority of the drivers are not in this for love of racing, as everyone is fond of telling us; they are in this for the huge paycheques. If people lose interest, the paycheques dwindle. It surprises me that someone who writes about Formula One, or wants to, would think he was telling us something new by this 'expose'. |

Just an update - the FIA are now planning to include mallice in the libel action against Rubython.
Mosley claims he has a letter in his possession from Rubython threatening to expose alleged F1 shenanigans, unless he was given accreditations to the Grand PRix circuit for the season. |
