24 hour practice #2.... What the?
What happened to the monaro's, after checking the results of the 2nd qualifying session they're nowhere to be seen!
Don't tell me someone's wised up to the fact that they have absolutely no place racing at the event and excluded them? What's going on! |

Going by the lap times in the second session, it looks like rain may have played a part. They already have the front row wrapped up (provided no one goes quicker tonight in the last qualifying session), so why risk the cars in the rain.
More than a year on and people are still *****ing about the Monaro, even though under Nations Cup it is perfectly legal |

I just think it's extrordinary that an Aussie V8 is beating some of the most powerful V10's and V12's the world has to offer

The Monaros had decided to not roll out for Q2 long before it started raining and made it pretty wet. |

yeah really exciting... Purpose built race car against purpose built road car... Top ten cover by 10 seconds in dry trip.... I'm so excited I'm going to loose sleep over it!!! It might be legal does not mean it is right!!!

Errm, get over it! With all due respect, the Holden squad look like the best prepared and have the best drivers for the job. But hey, 24hrs is a bloody long time, and anything can and probably will happen, especially considering the incredibly variable weather around here...

At the end of the day, it is a two car factory team with 8 pro drivers and a purpose built race car against a bunch of privateer efforts with a mixture of pay-drivers and pros driving hotted up road cars!
Oh well, go the Ferraris, Lambo, BMWs, Porsches, Mosler, Fords, FPVs, Alfas, Toyotas, Morgan, Mitsubishis, Subaru, Nissan and Hondas! Thats the great thing about Procar, if you don't like one make of car, there are plenty more out there |

yes shame on holden for building a decent car and putting together a competitive driver line up. instead they shouldn't just entered a couple of hq's and pick 6 people from this forum to drive for them *rolls eyes*

Looks like the Ford boys have struck again and are just jealous because Ford couldn't come up with a race car like the Monaro. Stop the winging and enjoy the race for crying out loud.

Its a 24hr race no point risking sticking in the wall in Q2. Smart move by GRM I believe. I was reading at bathurst24hr.com that they (the monaros) did the minimum laps possible in the night session - very wise moves and the person calling the shots at GRM is on the ball.

Why? - half the race is in the dark & it's a wise move not to practice in it & expose your drivers? bizarre thinking.....

Actually the Monaros ran their race engine and transmission in practice/qualifying, changing tailshafts for the race...
So limiting laps with drivers who had plenty of them a few weeks ago actually made quite some sense.... |
