Bernie is now calling for the British goverment to cough up and save the British GP by investing in a new venue! What planet is this guy on ?! Why should they invest in a private venture which would bring little or no benefit to the country as a whole ? Surely this is the job of a group such as BMP/BHLG ? After all, they are the ones who will reap the benefits...

You could say the same about the new Wembely stadium, and I can't see any investment being more than, say 20 mill, and just think of the 600 mill spent on the Dome.
Personally, I think it would be good for the country, as some of the money would be recouped from jobs created by the construction work. Public finance is needed as F1 demands that circuits spend more money than they can ever hope to recoup naturally through ticket sales. This type of help might also help to keep ticket prices lower as well. |
