Ralph Nader should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Top Speed

Hi one and all

I' m not sure if this forum is the right place to post this but here goes anyway. Where is the fastest point on a British Circuit? Is it just before Stowe on the Silverstone GP circuit? And what sort of speeds do various cars reach at that point?

I think the Rockingham oval may have a claim here, tha Champ cars were certainly averaging very high lap speeds.

Probably better off in Trackside.

I presume Rockingham has that one covered. Although now there isn't a champcar race there? What top speeds do the ASCARS get up to?

As for the other circuits. I guess end of Stowe is good. As is Snetterton's back straight. I've never been to Thruxton, but it is a very quick circuit.

For club racing, it's definately the top of Woodham Hill at Thruxton.

the fastest place on any circuit that a club racer will use is the back straight at snetterton it is the longest straight on any british circuit and u can expect avarage speeds in saloons of about 150mph but i done three laps in a gt40 and hit 206mph.
