BSB - Sky coverage.....
What happened to the last two rounds of the BSB on Sky? Unless I made a mistake they seemed to give up showing them live just as the championship came to an end.... seems a strange decision....

Donington was live as i watched it live, on Sky Sports Xtra i think, Oulton Park was "delayed live" as all Sky Sports channels had a live event that day and BSB lost out!
My only gripe is that there seemed to be no advance warning of the Oulton delayed coverage, i'm just glad i was in anyway and didn't return home to watch a video full of cricket!! |

Aha, that explains Oulton, I videoed it and ended up with 3 hours of tennis.... I don't have the Xtra channel so had to watch it in the evening. You'd think the final round of the BSB would be more important to show than yet another cricket / football / tennis / golf game....

Yeah Id agree with that statement Johnny, but thats because we are motorsport fans. Not cricket fans, now, regarding the Oulton BSB round, sure whilst the BSB championship is a big bike racing series I gotta say I think International level cricket appeals to a broader audieance, not saying I agree with their decision, but it did make more commercial sense to Sky to do it this way. If of course Moto GP was broadcast LIVE on Sky sports I think we would find that would get priority over a International cricket match, why? Because its the the best (argueably) bike racing series in the world.
Now about the Donnington event, sure Sky could have put it on Sky sports 1,2,3 but u gotta look at it from their point of view, Football is the biggest sport we have, and cricket and the Ryder appeal to a wider audieance, so I can see why Sky gave them priority to them. Although I have to admit, TENNIS?! Still, we did get LIVE coverage, and I dont see why ur whinging really, I assume u do receive BBC 1 and BBC2? They did cover the BSB LIVE at the weekend, or half a hour delayed or something like that. So with that in mind whilst u coudnt see the Sky Sports coverage LIVE because u dont have Sky sports extra, does it really matter, especially as the BBC covered it LIVE anyway, and there was a entire re run on Sky Sports 3 I think it was the same evening? Are you sure the BBC showed it? On the weekend of Donington they show highlights of Oulton Park. They don't show Donington until next weekend.... I could be wrong, I often am...

Hmm, not sure Johnny. I didnt actually see the Coverage on the BBC - I just saw that they had the BSB advertised for Sunday afternoon so I thought itd be LIVE, or delayed LIVE coverage, perhaps not.

The BBC tv listing was a balls up i believe, i would hazard a guess that the listing is for this weekend, as you know, its shown a week delayed on the Beeb.
