British Rally Championship Round 1 - Rally Wales
The British Rally Championship gets underway this weekend, with Rally Wales.

Stage 1 is underway at the momment and the top 10 looks like this:-

1 1 M. HIGGINS FORD WR 12:51.6
2 3 M. WILSON FORD WR +37.2
3 2 A. MCHALE FORD WR +41.8
4 4 D. HIGGINS MITSUBISHI PR +1:03.2
5 8 R. GALLIGAN MITSUBISHI PR +1:04.8
6 6 J. INGRAM FORD WR +1:11.4
7 15 R. GOWER HYUNDAI WR +1:21.7
8 5 S. LING HYUNDAI WR +1:27.5
9 16 J. LLOYD SUBARU WR +1:29.9
10 7 G. MCHALE TOYOTA +1:33.2

5th (8) Rory Galligan/Greg Shinnors (Lancer N) 1.07.30.2
6th (7) Gareth MacHale/Paul Nagle (Corolla WRC) 1.07.49.1
7th (15) Richard Gower/Aled Davies (Accent WRC) 1.07.49.3
8th (14) Stuart Jones/Ross Butler (Lancer N) 1.08.14.5
9th (11) Paul Wedgbury/Gemma Price (Impreza N) 1.08.16.1
10th (16) John Lloyd/Pauline Gullick (Imnpreza W"RC) 1.08.44.3

Mark Higgins retired on Stage 5, and Matthew Wilson crashed out of the event also on Stage 5 and along with his co-driver is being taken to hospital, lets hope they are both OK.

The update on Matt Wilson/Scott Martin is that Matt has broken right wrist, broken left arm and a smashed right knee cap needs will need more surgery. Scott fractured right and left legs. I wish them both a speed recovery.

Apparently they went off on a fast right at 160k.
Matt & Scott were due to go to Sardinia for the WRC next weekend in an 04 Focus.

OUCH! Thats one serious crash and set on injuries. I also wish them a speedy recovery. Such a shame that they will miss out on sardinia.

I just hope they both recover quickly and completely - a smashed kneecap is a bad injury and it will take a lot of time and effort to get back to 100%.

Indeed, a very nasty set of injuries and wishing them both swift recoveries.
