Design is predictable but awesome Can't wait to see it on track next year.

What about it's competitor, the 997? Will Porsche start next season with the 996 RSR or will the 997 R be presented by then?

Porsche will present the street 997 GT3 in spring next year, but no news yet on the yet on the race version. Hope it will come along the street version, otherwise I´m afraidthe 430 will be very hard to beat.

Interesting to read that there was also a 575 on track when it was recently announced that Ferrari stopped it´s development.

The Porsche GT2 997 variant is expected for 2007. Parts for it will be tested in a 996 in 2006. Porsche believes that they will lose to the 430 in the ALMS next year.

The Porsche 997 GT3 Street ( now maybe GT2 ) will appear in late spring / summer 2006. Porsche tests this car already on the Nordschleife since late spring of this year.

So a GT2 race version could appear earlist for Le Mans 2006 , but it seams to be more realistic that it appaers in 2007 on tracks.

Will it be called GT2, rather than GT3?

The Porsche 911 GT2 normally has a turbo engine, while the GT3 is NA.

A P 997 GT2 class car will be on the track in 07', not before.

360, 430? Give me a 911 any time please. The 430 is just is as hideous as the 360. Does it still sound like a fart?

Doesnt really bother me that much.

2 Lancia LC2s v 10 956's constituted some of the best moments in enduro racing.

A couple of Panoz and a Spyker will do for me nicely.

BTW, this is a tip for anyone who likes car. 130+ pages filled with extravagant, rare, special, etc. cars. A brilliant thread to spend a day or 2 in

they've built the fxx for semi personal trackday use. It's not for the road, not for any racing series as well. In other words: spend lots of money on an extremely ugly car and not be able to have more than a few days of fun per year in it...i think it's totally useless and plain disgustingly ugly. I really like the 430 though and the (realistic?) idea of the GT1 car above...

I think that FXX is a far better looking car than the MC12 . It kinda reminds me a bit of the rear of an F40 . Nice looking car in my opinion . They have done a nice job on the 430 . Is it just an aero kit ? Who is building it , Michelotto or Autodelta ?

Autodelta and Nordauto are the same company. Alfa Corse (based in Cusago), Fiat Abarth in Chivaso and Noprdauto (Malagnino) are part formed as N.Technology in July 2001. Michelotto is an own company with very close relations to Ferrari.
